From Bhilai to Bharat Mandapam: A young voice in India’s AI conversation

India’s growing role in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem is not being shaped only by policymakers, technology leaders, and corporations. Increasingly, it is also being influenced by a new generation of students who are stepping into global technology conversations with confidence and curiosity. The recent participation of Kriti Priya, a student from Bhilai, at the AI Impact Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi offers a glimpse into how young talent from across the country is finding its place in this evolving landscape.

Kriti Priya, currently pursuing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Rungta International University and serving as a Google Student Ambassador, was among a select group of six student ambassadors invited by Google to attend the summit. Her presence at a platform that brought together global technology leaders, policymakers, and innovators reflects not only individual merit but also the expanding opportunities for Indian students to engage with cutting-edge technology ecosystems.

One of the defining moments of her experience was the opportunity to interact with Google CEO Sundar Pichai. During the exchange, Kriti spoke about her efforts to promote responsible AI practices and encourage students to explore tools such as Google Gemini for innovation-driven learning. Her engagement reflects a broader shift among young technology enthusiasts who are increasingly concerned not only with developing technical skills but also with understanding the ethical and social implications of artificial intelligence.

In her conversation with Pichai, Kriti asked a simple yet revealing question about what matters most to him. His response — family — left a lasting impression on the young participants. For many students present, the exchange highlighted the human side of leadership in an industry often defined by scale, speed, and technological breakthroughs.

Kriti later described Pichai as approachable and attentive, noting how he took the time to ask students about their backgrounds and experiences. Representing Chhattisgarh, she shared insights into her academic journey and the growing AI ecosystem within her university.

Her presence at the summit was marked with a special expo badge recognising her role as a Google Student Ambassador. The recognition followed a rigorous selection process and acknowledged her efforts to build awareness around artificial intelligence among student communities.

Beyond individual recognition, the moment also reflects a larger trend within India’s higher education system. Universities are increasingly collaborating with global technology companies to align academic programmes with industry requirements. Rungta International University, for instance, has partnered with Google to introduce joint degree programmes in engineering and management that incorporate specialised Google certifications. The collaboration also integrates structured certification pathways, enabling students to earn globally recognised credentials alongside their academic degrees.

Such initiatives are part of a broader shift in education, where institutions are seeking to bridge the gap between academic learning and emerging technology skills. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries, the ability of universities to provide hands-on exposure, industry collaboration, and global engagement will become increasingly important.

For Bhilai, Kriti’s participation at the summit carries symbolic significance. A student from the city sharing space with global technology leaders at an international AI forum underscores how opportunities in the digital economy are expanding beyond traditional technology hubs. It reflects the growing democratization of access to knowledge, platforms, and global conversations.

For Kriti Priya herself, the experience marks an important milestone in her journey. For her institution and hometown, it signals a rising presence in India’s expanding AI ecosystem.

More importantly, it highlights a broader reality — that the future of artificial intelligence will not be shaped only in boardrooms and research labs, but also in classrooms, student communities, and emerging technology networks across the country.

Global Learning, Local Vision: Rungta University Studies Education Models in Finland, Paris, and Athens

Rungta University explores global  education models through academic visits to Helsinki, Paris, and Athens, aiming to integrate international best practices with a strong local vision for innovation in higher education.

In an effort to explore new knowledge and new horizons, higher  educational institutions worldwide are looking towards international academic visits to shape the future of learning. In this direction, an international academic visit by a delegation nominated by the Chhattisgarh Government, with VC Dr. Jawahar Surisetti nominated by the Government to be part of the panel, to Finland, Paris, and Athens has helped to inject new knowledge into the higher educational system of Chhattisgarh.

The international academic visit by the delegation has been designed to study key areas that have been transforming higher educational systems across the world, such as student well-being, learning in multiple languages, and classical knowledge systems, which have been reflected in the new education policy 2020.

Finland:  Education Focused on Well-Being

In Finland, which is considered one of the most effective education systems in the world, the delegation learned about the strong correlation between the achievement of students and their well-being, as well as the autonomy of teachers in the classroom.

In Finland, the education system focuses on reducing the hours of learning for students, reducing tests for young students, and using play-based learning to encourage the curiosity and creativity of students. This demonstrates the significance of cultivating the curiosity of students while reducing the pressures of academic learning.

Paris: Language as a Bridge to Global Learning

The delegation, as part of their visit to Paris, focused on the structured approach to multilingual learning in France, with institutions such as Alliance Française playing an important role in the country’s educational landscape. The approach is a blend of culture and language and is underpinned by the internationally accepted Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Such approaches show how language learning is a bridge to other cultures, as well as being a platform for global learning for students.

The learning is relevant for institutions such as Rungta University, as it is also part of the overall approach being taken in India for higher learning.

Athens: Classical Knowledge in Contemporary Education

The tour of Athens provided an opportunity to understand the extent to which the learning of the past continues to shape the learning of the present. Historic learning centres such as Plato’s Academy, along with other learning centres that have associations with the Acropolis Museum, reflect the extent to which classical learning continues to shape contemporary learning.

The delegation also examined the extent to which the learning traditions of Greece have similarities with the rich learning heritage of India. Such learning approaches, along with contemporary learning, reflect the emerging global interest in holistic learning approaches.

Connecting Global Insights with Indian Learning

The tour of Greece, for Rungta University, is an opportunity to connect the learning approaches of other parts of the world with the emerging learning vision for India. As learning institutions in India embrace the changes that the National Education Policy 2020 introduces, the tour of Greece points towards an emerging idea that is shaping the learning vision for the country: the idea of connecting global insights with learning.

Rungta University Shatters Global Records; Files 207 Patents in a Single Day to Lead India’s IPR Landscape

In an unprecedented display of technical synergy and intellectual ambition, Rungta International Skills University  has officially secured its place in the Golden Book of World Records. The university achieved the staggering feat of filing 207 patent applications within a single 12-hour window, marking one of the fastest rates of innovation filing in the country’s history.

A Culture of ‘Product-Ready’ Innovation

This world record is not an isolated event but the culmination of a deeply rooted culture of research at Rungta. By integrating Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) into the academic curriculum, the university has transformed from a traditional learning center into a “Knowledge Hub.”

To date, the RISU and Rungta Group community has achieved:

  • 350+ Total Patent Applications: Spanning sectors from AI and Smart Textiles to Green Energy and Agriculture.

  • 77 Patents Granted: A high success rate consisting of both Utility and Design patents, proving the practical viability of their research.

  • Strategic MSME Partnership: Through the MSME IP Facilitation Centre, the university ensures that student projects don’t just stay in labs but are converted into “Product-Ready IP,” ready for commercial licensing and startup ventures.

Filing 207 patents in 12 hours required more than just technical brilliance; it required an immense logistical effort in prior-art searching, drafting, and legal documentation. This achievement serves as a “Proof of Concept” for other Indian institutions, demonstrating that with the right mentorship and a dedicated IPR cell, Tier-2 cities can lead the national innovation index.

Under the vision of Dr. Sourabh Rungta and the university leadership, RISU is no longer just educating students—it is empowering inventors. This world record reinforces Rungta University’s status as a dominant force in India’s research ecosystem, significantly contributing to the “Viksit Bharat” vision for 2047.
