Late Shri Ghanshyam Dasji Rungta, committed to shaping the future of our demographic dividend and inspired by his father, Shri Rai Saheb Richpalji Rungta, took up the responsibility of providing quality education to the residents of Bhilai and Durg during the early part of the 20th century. Carrying forward this noble vision, his son Shri Santosh Rungta further strengthened the foundations of the Institute, ensuring that it continues to evolve as a centre of excellence in education. With unmatched academics and a strong emphasis on practical research, the Institute today stands as a living testimony to their vision and dedication. Rungta College was Established in 1999 under the auspices of the “GDR Educational Society” for Higher & Technical Education by the Honourable Founder late Shri Ghanshyam Das ji Rungta. Inspired by his father, Late Shri Rai Saheb Richpalji Rungta, he took up the responsibility of providing quality education to the State’s residents. Honourable Shri Santosh Rungta, the Group Chairman, backed the transformation from one engineering college to a group. It started as a single institution and has since expanded to encompass a variety of educational entities. Over the years, the institution has been a preferred destination for students nationwide due to its quality education, infrastructure, healthy teaching-learning practices, and industry-ready graduates.   Learning always requires a conducive environment that suits the students and more so, motivates the students to excel.
