B.tech – Agriculture Engineering

Program Description

Chhattisgarh, being the Rice Bowl of India, is known for cultivation. This gives rise to the demand for Agriculture Engineering which focuses on the science and technology of producing food grains. The department combines the principles from other disciplines of animal biology, plant biology and also principles of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Chemical Engineering. 

The Agriculture department at Rungta Group of Institutions, focuses on developing students on various aspects like design of agricultural machinery and equipment; agricultural structures, agricultural resource management, surveying and land profiling. Subjects like climatology and atmospheric science; soil management and conservation including erosion and erosion control, seeding, tillage and the like are given more importance. Harvesting and processing of crops, livestock production, and waste management are some of the areas of study in this programme.

With a strong emphasis on both theoretical and practical learnings and applications, the program prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities in the field of agriculture engineering.

The focus on new and emerging zones such as soil management, Nano-technology, and renewable energy are given importance so as to enable students to grab the career opportunities available in abundance.

The department, signing MoUs with Industries, further trains students to implement and design automatic control systems too
